Edge City Brewery
About us
Edge City Brewery is a brewery and taproom located on Monroe Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. We operate a 3-barrel brewhouse which allows us to have a variety of styles on tap at all times. Along with our beer, you can also find options like wine, cider, ginger beer, seltzers and a ton of non-alcoholic options and snacks. The inside taproom is very open and bright with a lot of plants while our expansive patio is fenced in and great for friends and family to spread out.
Opening in March of 2020, during Covid-19, Edge City Brewery was met with restrictions early on like only being allowed to sell to-go beer and then limiting the number of customers in the taproom. Fast forward to today, Edge City hosts many weekly events such as our weekly run club, trivia, live music and you can always catch a sports game. We also do a number of special events throughout the year like our Friday's Live, a free community concert every third Friday of the month which showcases local bands, artists, and vendors.
Head Brewer
Jared Thomas began like most brewers, brewing out of his garage on a small home brew system. His passion for brewing led to him getting a degree in Professional Brewing Science from South College in Asheville, North Carolina. From there he has brewing for well over a decade at many breweries as the Head Brewer learning and growing along the way. Now he is in charge of the exciting beer program at Edge City Brewery where he is able to showcase his creativity with the different beers he brews while keeping our favorite brews always on tap. Seasonality and fresh local ingredients are at the core of his beers. Come and taste the difference.
